The cloud tipping point has arrived (read David Linthicum’s excellent article here) and you want to begin to use the cloud or need to migrate to avoid that expensive hardware re-fresh?

Hesitant and unsure how to best start?

Whilst most recognise the inevitability of cloud – with its compelling use-case and value proposition, most are clueless on how to migrate there.

The cost savings of “cloud” are a part of a natural transition of computing from product to utility ,which are easily said and understood now with hindsight – inevitable.

But, the elephant in the room remains however  “how to migrate?

Greenfield” is (comparatively) easy – and the uptake has been huge – this helps add to the industry frothy excitement but does not provide the solution. However, for a current CxO (in established company) already making use of exiting technologies (such as virtualisation) is left without an obvious roadmap or  “ramp-up to the cloud” – these are known as “brownfield” sites. How do you get your existing applications and workloads into the cloud?

Brownfield” is not as easy as the clean slate of a greenfield start-up – it is more difficult.

Which is what v2c does well ….

research, test and implement the best cloud migration strategies using best-of-breed migration tools and solutions

These tools are recent additions to the Migration toolbox and make the illusive “ramp-up-to-the-cloud” easier with fewer unknowns and risks.
